When You Are Tired Rest


Hi. How is everyone doing?

I hope that everything is going well.

I've been going crazy for the past two months trying to get this coaching business up and running. The whole thing has been difficult and I've gone from constantly panicking and crying, to throwing everything I had into action, to feeling completely down and unmotivated.



Have you ever had an experience like this?

I think it goes with the territory of growth and trying new things. If you get pushed way out of your comfort zone then you find yourself in all kinds of emotions trying to figure out what to do.


Aside from all this, I found that last week was a huge challenge for me.

I couldn't explain why.

Nothing specific happened. Compared to other weeks it seemed relatively easy.

I was just tired.


REALLY TIRED.


And emotionally worn-out.


Do you ever feel like this?


Sometimes I think we have a tendency to push ourselves through these kinds of feelings.

There is a lot of pressure to keep going and be productive.



It seems like rest needs to be justified. It isn't enough to be tired, there has to be a good enough reason.


I know it is something I have struggled with before and I've heard it in the language of people around me too.


"I shouldn't be this tired. I haven't done anything."

"What's wrong with me? Why don't I have any energy?"



Energy is important. It is the force that propels us into action and lets us engage in life.

There is nothing wrong with working, goal-setting, and striving forward. In fact I'm a huge proponent of it.


But sometimes you really need to rest.


The most successful people I've met have a good balance of this. When they work they work hard, they are passionate and filled with energy and integrity in what they are pursuing, but they also know that to keep that energy and maintain the quality of work they produce they need to rest.



Taking a step back to let yourself feel the life you are living instead of always rushing through it can make a huge impact in the quality of your life.


It replenishes you so that you can move ahead with passion or stand still and fill up on the excitement of what it means to be here now.



Life isn't about working ourselves to death.

If you are tired your body is likely signaling to you that it's time for a break.

As with all cases, this is not true in all cases, but often it is.


If you are tired then rest. Let yourself have what you need.


Knowing what you need,


when you need it, and being willing to give that to yourself makes a huge difference in creating a life that feels good for you. One that is nourishing and sustainable in the long run.

d I took the advice I would have given to my own clients.


I used Awareness to look at where I was, Owned the fact that I was completely worn out and not up for producing high-quality work and responses, and Acted by allowing myself to just rest and enjoy time chilling with my family.


It was great!


On Monday I woke up with a new frame of mind, fresh ideas, and feeling of confidence to

accomplish what I need to move forward-- things that I was lacking most of last week.



Life is going to push and prod us as we move along. Recognizing where we are and what we need to do to build a life that feels good to us and is beneficial in the long run makes a huge difference in ho


w we handle whatever comes up.
